The budget for the Nerja Caves Foundation, set to be approved shortly, is expected to contain allocations for investments, grants and projects in Nerja and Maro. The cessation of such allocations a few years ago was one of the prime causes of the ‘Caves Wars’.
The budget is also expected to include provision for cultural activities in Nerja as well as the previously announced promotion of the Caves and the Nerja Museum. Grants to local groups and associations are another item likely to be included.
The manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ruiz, stated that even though the budget has not yet been approved, the Caves would remain open and current projects would continue unhindered.
