A 26-year-old woman stabbed her husband to death on Sunday morning at their home in calle de Cáncana in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, where they both lived with a two-year-old child.
The incident apparently occurred at around 00:15 when, according to the woman, María Ángeles M.M., her husband woke up and demanded cocaine. The woman told police that her husband hit her twice before she stabbed him in the stomach but they reportedly found no sign of aggression.
The man was stabbed once in the abdomen and this caused cardiac arrest. Medics battled for forty minutes to try and save his life but were unsuccessful.
The woman is due to appear in court on Monday.
