Ready for the summer season

The Councilor for Beaches, Jonathan Méndez, has announced that the municipal beaches are in ‘perfect condition’ for the summer season, both in terms of services and the suitability of the water for bathing.

More orange slicks

The seas near the beaches of Rincón de la Victoria and Benajarafe are the latest to witness orange slicks, previously these were seen in Nerja and Almayate.

In comes the sand again

The Department of Coasts is preparing to repair a number of beaches in preparation for the summer season, once again opting to bring in lorry loads of sand rather than find a permanent problem to beach erosion.

Beach concessions awarded

The Council has already awarded the concessions for sunbeds, pedalos, jet-ski, parasailing and the banana boat for the upcoming season.

Torrox businesses demanding action

Congested roads, economic crisis….the Spanish are letting none of this stop them from having fun in the sun as they flocked to the beaches of Andalucía for the first day of the ‘puente’ weekend. Find a spot for the towel, splash on the sunscreen and then just relax, play, read and generally enjoy. You can’t beat it.
