The rock band ‘Sonora’ will be performing on Burriana beach on August 22nd from 22:30. The concert has been organised by the Councilor for Youth, Charo Villasclaras.
New lighting on Burriana beach
On Saturday, the new lighting system on Burriana beach will be used for the first time for the Beach Volleyball Championships which begin at 20:00.
San Juan misdemeanours
In the past couple of days, the Local Police on Burriana beach have recovered a number of the wooden panels used as walkways or paths on the beach after they ‘disappeared’ during the San Juan celebrations.
Increased police activity to curb hippy settlements
As the summer season approaches, the Nerja Council has decided to take action to curb the ‘hippy settlements’ which tend to build up along the coast, particularly in coves around Maro and at the end of Burriana beach.

The Councilor for Sports, Ándrés Márquez, has announced that tendering for the Burriana Summer Camp and the Nautical Channel on the beach.
Permanent police presence for Burriana beach
Burriana beach now has a small, permanent detachment of Local Police (two officers), their office being next to the current Protección Civil office.

Six new play areas for the kids
The Nerja Council, thanks to a grant of €194,000 from the Andalucían Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Sports, has installed 6 new kiddies play areas, five on Burriana beach and one close to Torrecilla beach at the bottom of Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos. Burriana beach project
The Council has put forward a proposal to landscape a 500 metre stretch of land at Burriana beach which, it says, is currently in a poor state.
