Alternative music at Feria 2015
This year’s Nerja Feria (October 8th to 12th) will see an area for various concerts of ‘alternative’ music, from reggae to metal-flamenco and everything in between.
Council wants hotels to be allowed to have ‘live’ music on outside terraces
The Local Government Group has filed a motion to be discussed and passed at the next plenary session to once more request the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs of the Junta de Andalucia to permit hotels in tourist towns to offer ‘live’ music on their terraces.
Plaza Tutti Frutti could be about to change
Decree 78/2002 of February 26th approved by the Junta de Andalucía relates to Public Entertainment and prohibits any bars or pubs with a music licence from having a terrace.
Antonio Morales has died aged 70 years
The musician Antonio Morales, known as ‘Junior’, was found dead on Tuesday at his home in Torrelodones, Madrid. He was 70 years old.
Music returns to the Nerja Caves
After an absence of over twenty years, ambient music has returned to the Nerja Caves, with selected pieces of classical music now being played as you wander through the caverns.
A glimmer of hope…
It was somewhat strange, and a sad indictment in many ways, to see the almost permanent presence of a police car on the Balcón de Europa throughout the summer period, presumably mainly to ensure that no unauthorised buskers or artists dared entertain the locals and visitors.
Early introduction to music
A number of music and music and movement teachers in Nerja, under the direction of Fernando J. Laguna from the Municipal School of Music, have been giving a series of one hour concerts and talks at local schools for pupils aged between three and five years.

It is the Noche de San Juan, camping on the beaches with plenty of tents on El Playazo beach already.
