Sierra Nevada ski resort opens on Saturday

The Sierra Nevada ski station is set to open for the 2014-14 season on Saturday November 29th with a ski area initially focused on the beginners area of Borreguiles.

The Sierra Nevada ski station in Granada is now the only resort in Spain still open. The season officially ends on May 4th.

Request to keep ski resort open until May 5th 2013

The Association of Employers at the Sierra Nevada ski resort has asked the Minister of Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucia, Luciano Alonso, to mediate with the public company operating the resort, Cetursa, so that the resort can stay permanently open until May 5th 2013.

Sierra Nevada ski resort to open ahead of schedule

Thursday will see the Sierra Nevada ski resort become the first in Spain to inaugurate the 2012-13 season with 11.5 kilometres of piste open to the public. The Sierra Nevada ski Resort in Granada proved a popular destination over the holiday period, December 23rd to January 6th, with 151,733 visitors of one sort or another.
