Torrox Council has finally awarded the definitive contract for the management of the day centre located near El Faro to Claros S. C. A., having been deliberating the matter since the completion of the building in April 2007. The building is 1,000 square metres with space for 30 people.

Torrox Council has reached an agreement with a specialist company for the proper recycling of plastic waste materials from the greenhouses in the municipality, an initiative which will save around €14,400 for the municipal coffers.

Torrox Council paying its debts

Torrox Council has said that it has managed to pay off around €5 million of the debt owed to local suppliers since coming to power last June. A Council paying its bills should, of course, be routine rather than a newsworthy item.

Free publicity for Torrox companies

Torrox Council is offering free publicity on the local municipal radio station for companies in the area who generate employment, offering one month of free advertising for every employee hired on at least a three month contract. In addition, start-ups are being offered three months of free advertising.
