The bulldozers have been on Carabeillo beach clearing away vegetation and other items and there is very little bathing area left at the moment.
Works at the beach…
Work continues at the junction of Torrecilla and El Chucho beaches, new pipes being laid amongst other things. Had to hold my breath to get the photos, extremely niffy area at the moment!
Digging in Verano Azul…
There is work currently going on in Parque Verano Azul, presumably the construction of the permanent toilet modules etc.
Works at Nueva Nerja school still ongoing
A delegation of Council officials visited the works being carried out by the Junta de Andalucia at the Nueva Nerja school.
Disruption at start of new academic year
Around 150 pupils in years 3, 4 and 5 at the Narixa school will not have a normal start to the new academic year as work being carried out on the premises by the Junta de Andalucia will not be finished in time.
Paved area between Lagos and Mezquitilla now finished
Vélez-Málaga Council has now completed the work on the pedestrian area along the N-340 coastal road connecting the towns of Lagos and Mezquitilla. The €300,000 project included the installation of street lighting and allocation of parking bays in Mezquitilla.
Inprovements to the Remedios Rojo school in Monda
The Andalucian public entity Infrastructure and Educational Services, a dependency of the Ministry of Education, has tendered the contract to execute the expansion and reformation work on the Remedios Rojo school in Monda. The works, funded through the European FEDER programme, has a budget of €487,858.75.
Mayor officially signs off on calle Antonio Millón project
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has officially signed off on the works in calle Antonio Millón, a project which cost €267,000 and was financed through Urbanismo Comercial funds.
Easter is over, dig it up again
It was obviously just a (costly) beautification exercise for the Easter weekend because calle Antonio Millón has been dug up once again.
