Speculation that traffic entering calle Diputación would, as in the past, continue to exit via calle El Barrio is at an end with the construction of barriers in Plaza Cavana preventing such a route.
The new blocks prevent such an option and, unless traffic would be permitted to pass over part of the new pedestrian area, it looks like calle El Barrio, calle Diputación and calle Granada will become no through roads.
As the plans included new parking bays in calle Diputación for loading and unloading, this would mean vehicles entering the street would have to reverse out onto avenida Castilla Perez.
Meanwhile, work in the square is almost finished.
