The Councillor for Culture, Angélica Portillo, has filed a motion to request the Provincial Delegate of Culture of the Junta de Andalucia to sign an agreement to renovate the roof of the church in Maro.
Inauguration of footbridge
The new footbridge linking Maro with the Nerja Caves is to be officially inaugurated on December 22nd. The €1,2 million project has suffered delays of around five months due to technical and party political issues.

October 31st is not only Halloween, but also the Fiesta de la Castaña y el Boniato (Festival of the chestnut and sweet potato) in Maro, and this year the two are being combined to give us ‘Maroween’.

The Maro watchtower is now covered in scaffolding as the Ministry of Environment begins an ambitious project to renovate a number of these historic buildings.
Almería win at dominoes
The team from Almería were the winners of the tenth Andalucia Domino Championships held at the Hotel Playamaro in Maro at the weekend. Córdoba were the runners-up and Cádiz finished in third place.
